PRICES and BOOKING
for Yanks Meet Limeys May 25 - June 2, 2006

COST: 750 British Pounds ( = $1,350 @ an exchange rate of 1.80,
= $1,500 @ an exchange rate of 2.00)
COST of each extension: 330 British Pounds ( = $594 / $660)

Included in the cost is all transportation (to & from airports and from Chippenham to Halswsay Manor), the evening meal prior to the Thursday night Pre-Chippenham Costume Ball, tickets to the Ball, Bed & Breakfast and season tickets at Chippenham Folk Festival, and finally, the full cost of the three day stay at Halsway Manor (en-suite rooms and three meals a day).

All you have to pay for is lunches and dinners during the Chippenham Folk Festival. Also you are responsible for your own air fare.)

You do not need a partner to sign up but all rooms are double occupancy. Some single rooms may be available for a supplement. If you have no roomate, I will assign you one.

The group is limited to 20 people. To be a part of the group send a deposit of $300 per person. The balance of payment is due January 31st, 2006. After January 31, 2006 there is no refund of any money (unless you find someone to take your place.) I strongly suggest you consider Trip Cancellation Insurance - just in case you must cancel at the last moment.

THE EXCHANGE RATE SITUATION

Like the stock market, no one can predict what the exchange rate will do.

Personally, we believe the exchange rate will become still more unfavorable to the dollar. You might consider paying the whole amount now -- in order to benefit from the current exchange rate, which, as I write, is under $1.80 to buy a pound. Total cost of trip: 750 pounds times 1.80 equals $1,350. (Here is a real time currency converter: XE.com.)

You could pay a $300 deposit now and the balance of payment January 30, 2006. The amount of the balance will depend on how many pounds your $300 deposit bought -- and on how many pounds your dollar will buy when you decide to send in your balance of payment -- which must be before the January 31, 2006 deadline.

Waiting to send your “balance” until January 31, 2006 is a calculated risk You hope that by then, it will take fewer dollars to buy pounds (less than 2 years ago, $1.45 bought a pound so the trip would have cost $1,087). However, you must also realize that it might take more dollars to buy pounds (8 months ago it took $1.95 to buy a pound so the trip would have cost $1,462).
