An expanded six member Wild Asparagus! George Marshall, Becky Tracy, Ann Percival, David Cantieni, Stuart Kenney, Keith Murphy. Who could ask for anything more? Each year theyve been at BtB theyve been dynamite. Come dance for a whole week to the best Contra dance band in the land.WILD ASPARAGUS
They span dance styles from 1650 Playford through Vintage, Tangos, Blues up to modern rockin contra tunes. They play all day, they play into the night. Peter and Mary were a joy at our last dance camp; we cant wait to have them back this time with and they're joined this year by fellow New Englander Lise Brown on flute and saxophone. Again you have the rare privilege of being able to dance to three great bands at one camp.PETER BARNES, MARY LEA, LISE BROWN
Based in Denver, this terrific four member band (Scott Mathis, Linda Askew, Michael Gallagher, Elizabeth Stevens) will delight you. In addition to their repertoire of Squares & Contras, they will lead workshops in their specialty: Spanish Colonial Dances.SANDIA HOTSBILL LITCHMAN: Director of the Lloyd Shaw Foundation, he has been calling squares forever. In England, every time I mentioned squares absolutely everybody said: Do you know Bill Litchman? A square dance caller par excellance.
JOHN TURNER: The genial Brit who is already amassing a loyal following in the midwest is back for a second stint at our dance camp. The superb Wait for it, wait for it ECD & Contra dance caller is also ready to do a Dutch Crossing workshop.
CATHY STEPHENS: The Queen of Couple Dance returns! Her Tango and Vintage classes were a huge success at our last camp. We're delighted to have her back to teach tango and vintage, and lead the famous 'Cathy's Lounge' after hours couple dance parties.
MYKL WERTH: Traverse Citys & BtBs jewel of a Waltz teacher will also teach swing. The testimonials he received after our last dance camp were so passionate as to be almost unbelievable.
JACQUI MORGENSTEIN: A Brit who has developed a loyal following teaching Irish Sets. Join her & learn to dance a form Contra dancers are rapidly falling in love with. (Hard soled shoes are a "must" for this.)
STROPH RAYNER: The third Brit on our staff who will teach 3 workshops of Bampton Morris (Sunday, Monday & Thursday if weather fine). Women please bring a pair of pants to wear to these workshops.
TRICIA MEAD: Will lead the early morning Yoga and Stretch sessions to set you up for the day.
